Connecting with Communities: Addressing Poor Housing and Its Health Impacts

How do poor housing conditions affect health and housing outcomes?

Over the next few months we will be chatting with and learning from tenants across the UK in the private rental sector to explore how inadequate housing has negatively impacted their well-being. Issues like overcrowding, damp, and unsafe housing conditions have long been linked to adverse health outcomes.

Research shows that those living in substandard housing are at higher risk of health problems. According to the national government, an estimated 1.6 million private rented sector tenants in England live in dangerously low-quality homes where serious hazards “exist in 12% of properties, posing an immediate risk to tenants’ health and safety".

With the housing crisis deepening in London, Cambridge House has partnered with us to find ways to engage and support these communities.

If you are a housing professional, renter, or someone with lived experience of housing issues, we’d love for you to be part of this project to be a voice to those often overlooked. By taking part, you’ll help shape the project and contribute to creating solutions.

If you want to get involved email us hello@cvr.community for more information.
